Rayman Fiesta Run for iOS is a side-scrolling runner game with cool visuals and funny mechanics. This one is as fun to look at as it is to play, and remains suitable for gamers of all skill levels.
Rayman Fiesta Run presents in landscape mode to deliver a very straightforward gaming premise. Your mission is to run like hell through a goofy and ridiculous gaming environment, populated with humongous strawberries, candy-coated goodness, and liquid candy rivers you gotta swim through. The game environment is a side-scrolling maze of sorts, and all you gotta do is leap over perilous drops, swim the sugary sweet rivers, bounce off comically goofy limes, and reach the finish line, where you advance to the next level and do it all over again. The play is fairly predictable with little variance. However, the over the top visuals inject just enough silliness into the play to keep things interesting.
The controls use one finger, mulit-tap function to jump, swim, and scale candy-coated walls. All functioned well. It takes some trial and error, but the controls were effective. The graphics are yummy to look at, with lots of playful originality. The animation was irreverent in its depiction of this little guy running through a maze of sweets, and offered some comical triggers and motion that made me laugh. The sounds are also quite funny and entertaining, rounding out the game's visuals nicely.
Rayman Fiesta Run is fairly common in play, but hugely original in visuals. This one is sure to entertain for a little while, though I'm not sure how captivating it will remain over time.
