Disco Zoo for iOS is a fantastically silly and irreverent game that's sure to be a hit with kids of all ages. Rescue animals from the wild and populate your fledgling zoo where they dance the night away. This one is good, clean fun, with a healthy sense of humor.
Disco Zoo is a silly little retro game that's heavy on the pixels and over the top with the silliness. As the story goes, you are in charge of a newly opened zoo, and your mission, is to head on out into the wild and find animals in need of being rescued, so that you can give them a home in your beloved zoo. Finding animals involves tapping on squares in a grassy meadow, which reveals icons depicting the animals there to be found. Uncover 4 matching icons to rescue that animal and take it back to your zoo. The more animals you rescue, the more you'll have on display, resulting in bigger and bigger crowds coming to see them. And the fun part is, every once in a while, your entire zoo, animals and all, break out into a disco dancing party, complete with flashy disco ball, just for the fun of it. I told you this one was silly.
The controls employ screen taps to make the game go, and all functioned well. The graphics are highly crude, perhaps of the 8 bit variety. The animation is choppy as all hell, but also highly entertaining and fun to look at. The sounds feature disco dancin' music, so they're awesomely fun.
Disco Zoo is perhaps one of the stupidest games I've seen of late, and I say that very lovingly. This game is just good, mindless fun. Just not sure how long it will remain captivating over time.
