Badoo for iOS is a straightforward dating app that actually seems like it's about meeting people, and not just another wham-bam hook up app. Browse local singles ready to make a connection, and hopefully, maybe, possibly, find true love.
Badoo presents in portrait mode to reveal a very basic user interface centered around getting lucky in love. Just input some basic biogrphical info, upload some pictures, and you'll be browsing local singles in no time. Generally, I'm not all that fond of dating apps because they tend to feel rather smarmy, but this one didn't have any stupid, first date, sorta questions that gave me the heebie-jeebies. Every listing features real pictures, of real people, and I didn't see any of those cringeworthy selfies with slutty poses; so that's a good thing. Although perhaps that was just the luck of the draw at that moment. Users who want to prove they're serious can even verify their phone number and identity, which is a good sign.
The app's interface is decent but fairly bare bones. You can search profiles by similar interests, view people nearby, and see who has visited your profile recently, just to name a few. Naturally, you can also send private messages and Like photos; all as a way of making an introduction. What happens from there, falls on you. The interface is clean and modern and I didn't encounter any serous buffering issues or lag times. However, the app doesn't exactly offer anything unique or original that sets it apart from the rest.
Badoo functions well and seems to be genuine about its approach, and if you're looking for love, that seems like a good place to start.
