Adventure Escape: Murder Manor for iOS offers a quality gaming experience. Find hidden objects, solve a murder mystery and save the day. This one is a tad predictable, but sure to entertain.
Adventure Escape: Murder Manor presents in landscape mode to deliver a wholly competent, but perhaps a tad uninspired, gaming environment. As the story goes, you are a detective whose car broke down in the rain, and the nearest abode is a posh mansion with dinner in the oven; we should all be so lucky. But all is not as it seems and someone is murdered at this impromptu dinner gathering, and your mission is to figure out who did it. The play involves mini game sorta puzzles and hidden object play. Read text, poke your screen, and use your noodle to make sense of it all. This is a quality presentation with a stereotypical plot that lacks any sort of inspiration or originality. I almost expected Scooby Doo to pop in and save the day.
The controls employ screen pokes to make the magic happen, and they functioned well. The graphics are highly detailed, presenting a series of still images that possess some decent intrigue. The animation is minimal, with almost no moment, save a little razzle-dazzle, here and there. The sounds were effectively spooky.
Adventure Escape: Murder Manor is sure to entertain die hard hidden objects fans. However, it's heavy handed and lacking in anything new, novel, or original.
